Newtype January 2008 Issue confirms it! As shown, come Spring 2008, Code Geass will air its second season, after the first season ended quite abruptly.
Also, there seemed to be a new character being introduced this time round. His name is Rollo, as seen in the magazine.
The plot setting for the new season is said to be situated in the entire world, instead of primarily Japan (in season 1)
No doubt that everyone has been waiting for this day for the news to be confirmed!
So have I. Now, all we can do is wait!
